The helices are 2HHB's own HELIX records — what the crystallographers assigned, not a guess by us. Running the standard algorithm (DSSP) on the same coordinates agrees, and finds no β-sheet either. The other chains are deposited coordinates too, slid into place unchanged.
Real folding is thermal chaos, not a smooth collapse — and this is an animation of a known answer, made backwards. The computer pulls the real structure apart into an open chain, then plays that film in reverse. Every frame ends exactly at the real crystal structure: the order of events is right, the path is invented.
Two more simplifications: side chains aren't drawn (only the backbone moves), and once a helix forms it is held rigid — real ones flex a little at the ends.
